Alfresco ECM working as a simple Digital Signing Service

Recently, we have developed an Alfresco ECM module, for signature validation of documents with the help of Sinadura libraries. Sinadura is an open source java suite for signing and validating any type of documents, with advanced signature properties.

The module allows the possibility of checking the validity of signatures, timestamps, and corresponding chain certificates. All the signature information is represented with an aspect with the following metadata properties (in spanish):

So now, we can store and preserve in our CMIS repository all of those important signed documents of our organization, and automatically check the validity of their signature properties with the help of an Alfresco content rule.

The module is used in the core of a signature BPM process, where desktop, web and smartphone clients are involved and working against Alfresco Repository.
